#TechInMotion Presents: Battle of the Decade, iOS vs. Android
Wednesday, December 12th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Join us at General Assembly on November 7th for a technical debate on a HOT topic in the tech community: iOS or Android? We will kick of the evening with a networking session where tech lovers of all kinds are encouraged to mix and mingle with others in the NYC tech community, while enjoying some delicious grub.
After an hour or so, the battle will begin!
Two credible leaders in the mobile engineering space will present their reasons for choosing their particular platform to develop their mobile applications. The debate will be moderated by a platform agnostic engineer who has built apps on both platforms. This conversation will cover the pros and cons from an engineering, scalability, marketability, and of course profitability standpoint of each platform.
Food and beverages will be provided.
The Developers
Kevin Galligan is a Lead Developer and President of TouchLab.co. Kevin has a BA in CS from Colgate University. He spent several years managing developers for a financial firm, then left a few years ago to pursue the startup lifestyle. Since then, he has built several products, in both the web and mobile space. Kevin is also an organizer for the New York Android Developer meetup.
Chris White is a mobile product/project manager and software engineer with 10 years of hands-on experience in mobile and web environments. He specializes in iOS and Android development, and has worked most recently in NYC at Betaworks, the startup incubator, and Medialets, the mobile advertising network. His most recent projects for iOS include iPrintagram and HowNow. He is co-author of Beginning iOS Apps with Facebook and Twitter APIs: for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. He got his start developing mobile GPS Navigation software for ALK Technologies. He resides in North Brooklyn.
